Description
This biotope is a deeper variant of discrete Lophelia pertusa colonies where L. pertusa is replaced by Solenosmilia variabilis occuring on coral rubble. The same assemblage was recorded on rock but associated species are likely to differ. Characterising species listed refer to all discrete Solenosmilia variabilis assemblages not just those found associated with the zone and substrate specified in this biotope.
